| What would you do to take this to 1750? I want to drag you to Gottacon next year... | |

| Oh, believe me, sir. I want to go next year.
Knee-jerk reaction, without much thought put into it.
HQ The Swarmlord & Tyrant Guard w/bonesword
ELITES 3x Hive Guard 3x Hive Guard Doom of Malan'tai in mycetic spore
TROOPS 11x Genestealer w/adrenal glands 11x Genestealer w/adrenal glands 11x Genestealer w/adrenal glands
HEAVY SUPPORT "Big Angry", trygon "Widow-Maker", trygon
Again, all reserve. However, if I were to go, I'd probably rethink the whole list. Remove the Swarmlord, try to fit in some gargoyles or maybe even another trygon. Make one of them a prime to get extra synapse. I'd play around.

| Running the numbers, a squad of 8 stealers w/adrenal glands is 136 points and can kill a group of 5 marines (even with FnP) on the charge and kill 4 if they are charged first. So I think I may go with squads of 8 (for maximum, lean efficiency) or maybe 10 to give them a little more durability. 12 is overkill I think. | |

| They will get shot, so I would account for losing at least a handful before combat. | |

| I agree, Panda wins more than he loses for the most part, and look how good devon is with his. I think its some sort of perception about the codex | |

| yes, a definite perception issue. likely cuz most other things seem either more well armoured, or more numerous. The issue is usually matchups at the squad level. I've almost never overestimated the Tyranids.
anyway.
Reserve everything is probably a BAD IDEA. how will you're hive guard ever do anything walking on the board edge turn 3? Swarmy is footslogging too.
Maaayybe Doom DSing, 2-3 'stealer units outflanking and 1-2 'stealer units walking on if necessary for home objective.
You want the hive guard shooting all 5 times. You want both trygons out front and close together, so that one or both smash into what they want, to give Swarmy time to move in. You want Swarmy getting to the enemy, AND you've paid for his guard so you might as well need them by living dangerously.
as for alternate HQ builds, Matt and I have had great success with a simple double talon flying Tyrant.
