Gottacon 2013 - List W - World Eaters

So this is obviously an option, I just wish we had it now, so I could know to give up on the dream of a varied World Eater force or not. :p

This is what I just threw together at 1500, at 1750 I can bring a Vindicator, and another Termicide squad.

This is with the current book obviously. What I hope is that we get a boost to Havocs, as I want to field 4 autocannon's in a squad, and that we get something in fast attack.

HQ (Kharn or Lord)

Elites - Cult Terminators that really crush face.

Troops - Berzerkers and CSM with Mark of Khorne

Fast - Not sure

Heavy - Havocs, Land Raiders

I find with the lists I keep making, I just want to have a lot of marines on the table.

This really goes to show age of that codex as that list doesn't really frighten me at all.

Your SC, 6 termis, 8 berzerkers, 20 csm, 2 rhinos, defiler and landraider, for the same points, would be facing a prime and 3 warriors (which could handle any single unit in your army), 4 hive guard (to deal with your two rhinos and defiler), 2 trygons and 38 genestealers. Yes, the land raider would be a problem but I could handle absolutely everything else and then worry about it.

And that's with a "subpar" list/army. Look at what your 1500 point SW or even BA could do against this same list. I appreciate a themed list but I just don't think World Eaters are competitive in a tournament environent.

Yep, I fully 100% agree. I put together a 1500 SW list, thats probably harder to fight for most then my 1750 I played last time out! I just need to chill and hold on till chaos gets its book, then see how things are.

Maybe I'll force myself to paint those maulifaux models I bought last year.

there are some tweaks you could do.... but it is a low rank book. SOMETHING will come.....

While it will ultimately become the same mono-build codex that every codex becomes, I think all of the thematic lists will at least become competitive. It will be interesting to compare this list to a similar World Eaters list after the new 'dex is out.

Phil Kelly books dont become mono build. There may be units that are nearly always present, but there are a lot of options still for wolves, and orks, and even DE if your willing to drop the cash (Beastmasters are just insanely expensive $$$)

I also noticed the Psyfleman option for the decimator. badass. i like the marks too. Slaanesh for Grenades! the built in famers are soo nice, really helps the CC variant.

Yeah I think its awesome, I hope its as pose-able as the contemptor, then you could do some really cool things with it.

it is really nice to bring a boss psyfleman for backup. and we all agree the model is dope.


Havocs with 4x Autocannon 155pts but no wounds to spare....

Yeah its a real shame that ML/AC are TWENTY FREAKING POINTS each in the chaos book, vs 10 for recent imperials (even SM? I dont know).
