yah, I like that too. the double dread threat (guessing Furioso/Reg) first turn will really add to the Baal pressure. also the Preds get to shoot from the back. Just thinking of the 4 AV13 front line, but that would likely not work in practice.

any Power fits/weapon in all the squads? Looks to me like some sacrifice would have to be made to make your hammer units a little more punchy....

Yeah the punch is kind of missing, I think thats really what Death Company should be, but the Rage rule just completely ruins them for me. Sad

I find that building around Baal Preds is a difficult thing I'll have to think on it a bit.

Yeah I just see, at 1750, Baal Preds as a nice support piece. Trying to build around making them the focal point doesnt seem to work out for me, even spamming Dev ML squads, there just isnt a way to fit in something that says 'yeah thats going to be hard to deal with' again mostly because I think Death Company with Rage are crippled and overly expensive.

I was thinking of using Vanguard Vets, but then your de-saturating your force with Jumpers, then again you could keep them on Foot in a LR, but they still dont score. Though that idea isnt something I have priced out maybe I'll check it...

so if DC needs to be a hammer unit, and may want to be in a LR to really form a deathstar; make them really scary and could bring enough fists to kill things fast, and maybe a Hammer (auto stun vehicle, get auto hits next combat), best way to not get tied in combat. they could bring DC Tycho, who has combi melta and 2d6 armour pen. or if in a Raider could bring a term captain with Chain Fist.

Mephiston is just such a good choice...... just hideable MC.

DC Tycho cant join the squad, hes not an independent. :/

I'm going to work it out with Vanguard Vets on Foot in a LR and see. They are still pretty pricey though due to the I think Sang Priests in the list. The potential for FNP/Furious Charge seems to have altered the cost of things in the book?

Right, I was looking at Captain Tycho, so back to the captain option. or regular libby option. maybe drop to 1 sang priest who would stay back to just add enough survivability to the Dev squads or back objective holders....

Other than the vindicators, thats a very themed army. I always feel fast armies wouldn't have siege tanks. Just my feeling though.

I think they are there for area denial, and the obvious large blast's since the rest of the list is missing any kind of template. Its a pretty tight list for sure.

Yeah, area denial they do well. I just remember building my army and trying to theme is towards armoured units, heavy guns and the like because thats how I imagined Iron Warriors. I would not be inclined to add loads of bikes as example.
Would your Flesh Tearers be inclined to go a similar route? Or would you be more in to the variant predators like your list a few posts back?

Really it would just depend on what I needed in the list. The list from gottacon is so well balanced in my opinion, I just really dislike bikes unless its a theme list (Ravenwing, White Scars).

I see this list playing very counterstrikey.... few troops will make it fragile in some scenarios. the furioso looks like a mean build. seems like one razor would cover the devs while the other would follow the preds, with the dante bomb landing from DS hopefully later game to mop up those KP or grab an objective (with the punch to push a squad off an objective to get it)

I really dont like the BA book. The more I look at it and contrast it with SW/GK, the more it just doesnt work for me you either cant afford the toys, or you take MSU troops that are very ineffective which isnt cool to me.
